The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has begun an on-site inspection Monday of South Korea's Pyeongchang as part of the county's third bid to host the Winter Olympics.

A 14-member IOC team led by Sweden's Gunilla Linberg arrived at Incheon International Airport on Monday afternoon.

During their stay, Pyeongchang will showcase 17-themed presentations including ones on its Olympic vision, legacy, central government support and the bidding aspirations of local residents. The Pyeongchang bidding committee rehearsed for four days for the presentations.

The IOC officials will also inspect stadiums and athlete villages located in Pyeongchang and other nearby cities as part of the bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The host city will be decided at the IOC General Assembly in Durban, South Africa, on July sixth.
