The organizers of the 13th World Athletics Championships in Daegu say preparations are going smoothly.

The organizers said in a news conference held 200 days before the meet begins that some six-thousand volunteers have been selected for the event.

Organizers added that preparations for telecom and flight services are also going well, with key providers of such services, including KT and Korean Air, participating as official sponsors.

The organizers also said that the athletes’ village and the media village are 92 percent complete. Some 35-hundred athletes from some 200 nations and some 25-thousand reporters are expected to stay at the facilities.

The organizers will rehearse the meet during the so-called Colorful Daegu Prechampionships Meeting in May.

The main sporting event will be held from August 27th to September fourth.
