Russia will pay the costs for manufacturing the first-stage of South Korea’s “Naro” space rocket.

Vladimir Nesterov, the head of the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center, recently told a Russian online news outlet that his center will keep its promise to develop the first-stage of the Naro at its own expense. The center is in charge of manufacturing the first-stage of the rocket.

The confirmation will help pave the way for South Korea to make a third attempt to use the Naro to put a satellite into orbit.

The first two attempts to use the Naro to put a satellite into orbit in August 2009 and June 2010 both failed.
