S.Korea Wins Gold at Winter Asian Games

South Korea is on a winning spree as it grabbed gold at the Asian Winter Games, which opened on Saturday in Kazakhstan.

In the women's downhill event on Monday, veteran skier Kim Sun-joo crossed the finish line with the time one minute and 37.61 seconds, winning the first gold for the nation in the games.

This is the first time that the ladies' downhill event has been included in the Asian Winter Games.

In the women's 1500 meter short track event, Cho Ha-ri clocked in at 2:38:50 to garner a gold medal, while Noh Jin-kyu finished first in the men's 1500 meter final to beat out China's Liu Xianwei. South Korea's Um Cheon-ho came in second in the event.
