Lee Wins 4th World Sprint Speed Skating Title

Top South Korean skater Lee Kyou-hyuk has won his fourth World Sprint Speed Skating Championship title during the competition held in the Netherlands on Sunday.

On the second day of the competition in Heerenveen on Monday, Korean time, Lee came in first at 34.77 seconds in his second race of the men’s 500 meters. He also finished sixth in his second race of the men’s one-thousand meters at 1:09:48.

When adding his Sunday scores to Monday’s total, Lee ranked first in the competition.

The final scores are based on the combined points of four races, including two 500-meter events and two one-thousand meter events.

Lee won the title in 2007, 2008 and 2010.
