S.Korea to Face Iran in Asian Cup Quarterfinals

The South Korean soccer team beat India 4-1 in the final Group C match of the Asian Cup on Tuesday night (Korean time) to secure a place in the quarterfinals.

In the team’s third group match in Doha, Qatar, Team Korea hammered India, with forward Ji Dong-won netting two goals and midfielder Koo Ja-cheol and winger Son Heung-min contributing one goal apiece.

Despite the win, South Korea finishes second in Group C behind Australia with two wins and a draw, leaving Team Korea with a tough quarterfinal match against rival Iran, which is the top seed of Group D.

The match with Iran will be held Sunday at 1:15 a.m. Korean time.
