S.Korea, Australia Play to 1-1 Draw

The South Korean soccer team played Australia to a 1-1 tie in South Korea’s second Group C match at the Asian Cup under way in Qatar.

In the match held Friday night (Korea time) at Al Gharafa Stadium in Doha, midfielder Koo Ja-cheol scored the game's first goal in the 24th minute.

However, Australia's Mile Jedinak scored the equalizer 17 minutes into the second half of the game.

Team Korea beat Bahrain 2-1 in its first group match on Tuesday. Both South Korea and Australia have each scored a win and a tie, but Australia is leading Group C due to goal differential.

South Korea will take on India in its third and final Group C match on Tuesday for a place in the quarterfinals.
