A list of all wildlife covering indigenous species in Korea has been completed in Korea for the first time.

The National Institute of Wildlife Resources says that a team of some one-hundred researchers in Korea and abroad analyzed information over the past three years and have confirmed a total of 37-thousand indigenous wildlife species with a roster.

This is the first time the list has been made with internationally recognized scientific data, although there have been previous relevant research.

The institute said the number of indigenous wildlife species will increase to 41-thousand after some 35-hundred new species and those not yet recorded are internationally validated.
