Pyeongchang Completes Bid File for 2018 Winter Olympics

Pyeongchang's bidding committee for the 2018 Winter Olympics has completed a candidate file that includes its detailed plans to host the event.

The committee held a ceremony Thursday to sign the bid file, which will be submitted to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Tuesday.

The file includes Pyeongchang's plans for venues, event facilities and transportation for the event.

The file also includes the government's plan to designate the region as a special Olympic district if Pyeongchang wins the bid.

IOC officials are scheduled to conduct an on-site inspection of the area from February 14th through the 20th.

The selection of the host city will be made in six months.
