Prep for 2014 Incheon Asiad to Begin in 2011

The building of facilities for the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon will begin in full swing from 2011.

The authority providing support for the 2014 Asiad said in its 2011 projects report that it would add ten more facilities to its original plan as the number of sporting events has been fixed at 36. It said it would begin early next year the construction work on three facilities, including the main stadium.

It will also use 13 venues in the area to save expenses.

The athletes’ village and media village have been relocated.

The authority also plans to construct facilities for golf, equestrian, and rowing events at a nearby landfill and build a yacht racing venue by using private capital.
