An exhibition of the world’s latest computer graphics technology will be held for three days starting Thursday in southern Seoul.

SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 is the Asian version of the U.S. SIGGRAPH that first began in 1974 under the Association for Computing Machinery. Singapore hosted the Asian version in 2008 as did Yokohama in 2009.

At the event, some three-thousand computer graphics experts from around the world will come to Seoul. It will be a venue for Korean graphic artists to demonstrate South Korea’s IT technology to the world.

In particular, key figures in the production and development of computer graphics in the blockbuster animated feature films Toy Story, Avatar, Starcraft, and Transformers will be in Korea to share their know-how.

In addition, there will be an “Animation Festival” that will showcase 3-D technologies, special effects, and other exhibits related to computer graphics.
