South Korea’s Lee Seung-hoon won the men’s five-thousand-meter speed skating event at the Essent ISU Speed Skating World Cup held in Berlin on Friday.

He won the race with a time of six minutes and 18.40 seconds.

Lee was the gold winner of the men's ten-thousand-meter speed skating event at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Another South Korean, Lee Kang-seok, grabbed the bronze medal in the men’s 500-meter event with a time of 35.10 seconds.

Female skater Lee Sang-hwa, meanwhile, snatched the silver medal in the women’s 500-meter event.
