South Korea has added three gold medals in taekwondo and weightlifting at the ongoing Asian Games in Guangzhou.
Jang Mi-ran on Friday won the gold in the women's over-75-kilogram weightlifting event in which she successfully lifted a total of 311 kilograms.
Noh Eun-sil won the women's under-62 kilogram taekwondo title, routing Iran's Raheleh Asemani 14-2. Lee Dae-hoon also garnered a gold in the men's 63-kilogram event.
In rowing, Shin Yeong-eun won the silver in women's single sculls, and Ji Yu-jin won the silver in lightweight women’s single sculls.
In soft tennis, the nation added two silver medals in men's and women's doubles.
South Korean players added a bronze each in Taekwondo, table tennis and shooting.
The baseball team will face Taiwan in hopes of earning its first title in baseball at the Asian Games in eight years.
The soccer team, which is aiming for a gold for the first time in 24 years, will play Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals.
South Korea is currently in second place with 39 gold, 35 silver and 46 bronze medals.
