Swimmer Park Seeks 2nd Asian Games MVP Title

Swimmer Park Tae-hwan picked up a silver medal in the men’s 15-hundred-meter freestyle on Thursday night to reinforce his chances of being named the most valuable player (MVP) of the Asian Games for the second consecutive time.

Earlier in the Games in Guangzhou, Park picked up gold medals in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter freestyle events.

Other athletes considered to be strong contenders for the MVP title are Chinese female swimmer Tang Yi and Chinese weightlifter Li Ping, who set two world records in the women's 53-kilogram weightlifting division.

The MVP of the Asian Games will be announced on Thursday.
