Swimmer Park Aiming for 3rd Gold at Guangzhou Games

Swimmer Park Tae-hwan will seek out his third gold medal at the Guangzhou Asian Games on Wednesday when he competes in the men's 100-meter freestyle event.

Park earlier grabbed the gold in the 200- and 400-meter freestyle events in this year’s Games.
When adding the gold medals he won during the previous Asian Games in Doha, Park has won a total of five gold medals in the sporting event.

Also on Wednesday, South Korea will set its sights on gold in taekwondo. Gold-medal matches will be held in the women’s under-46 kilogram division as well as the men’s under-74 kilogram and under-87 kilogram divisions.

South Korea will also aim to grab medals in artistic gymnastics, shooting and cycling on Wednesday.

The men’s volleyball team will compete against Kazakhstan in a preliminary match, while the men’s basketball team will face Jordan in the preliminary round.
