Team Develops LEDs by Using Graphene

Domestic researchers say they have developed a technology to produce light-emitting diodes (LED) using graphene-layered sheets.

A research team led by professor Lee Kyu-chul at Seoul National University said Friday that it cultured nitride thin films on a sheet of graphene and that LEDs were fabricated as a result.

The team said the nitride thin films show excellent characteristics at room temperature, such as stimulated emission.

The findings appeared in the Friday issue of "Science."
