Vettel Claims Pole Position for Korean F1 Race

Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing has claimed the pole position for the Formula One Korean Grand Prix after Saturday's qualifier.

The German came second in the championship standings at 14 points behind teammate Mark Webber of Australia, but edged Webber by 0.074 seconds in Yeongam County, South Jeolla Province.

Fernando Alonso of Spain claimed third place and Lewis Hamilton of the U.K. fourth.

Webber leads the standings with 220 points, while Vettel and Alonso each have 206 points.

The competitors will compete in Brazil and the United Arab Emirates after Korea for the season finale.

Twenty-four drivers also took part in a handprint session to commemorate the inaugural Korean Grand Prix. The event's organizers say their prints will be a permanent exhibit to recognize the first competitors of the event.
