F1 Korean Grand Prix to Open Friday

The 2010 Formula One Korean Grand Prix will open Friday at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province.

Formula One is one of the three biggest sporting events in the world, along with the Olympics and the soccer World Cup. As of Friday, South Korea will have hosted all three.

South Korea is the seventh Asian nation to host an F1 event following Japan, Malaysia, China, Singapore, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. Among them, only Japan and Korea will have hosted both the Olympics and the World Cup.
