S.Korea's FIFA Ranking Jumps to 40th

The South Korean national soccer team has seen its ranking jump to 40th place in the world, up four notches from last month.

The international football governing body FIFA announced the new world rankings for men’s soccer on Thursday.

Among the member states of the Asian Football Confederation, Australia was ranked the highest at 21st place. Japan was ranked 30th and North Korea was ranked 111th.

Spain, which won the World Cup this year in South Africa, remained the number-one ranked soccer team in the world followed by the Netherlands and Brazil.
