The SK Wyverns have ranked first for the fourth consecutive year in terms of quality of service among the nation’s eight professional baseball teams.
The Korean Standards Association announced Wednesday that the Wyverns, who won this year’s Korean series title on Tuesday, scored the highest in terms of the Korean Standard-Service Quality Index for professional baseball.
The standards association said the Wyverns received the high scores because they made their uniforms out of material produced from recycled plastic bottles and set up bicycle racks outside of baseball parks.
The Korean Standard-Service Quality Index was tallied after surveying adults aged between 20 and 59 in five major cities in the nation from May through August.
The standards association first began to conduct surveys for the index in 2000 in a bid to enhance Korean service industries’ competitiveness and to handle the opening and globalization of service markets. The association began to conduct the survey on professional baseball starting in 2005.
