F1 Korean Grand Prix to Open on Friday

Anticipation is high in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province, ahead of the opening of the inaugural Formula One Korean Grand Prix on Friday.

Mechanics for the 12 participating teams are already in the process of testing the cars for the race.

The Formula One World Championship consists of 19 races this year, the 17th of which is the Korean Grand Prix.

The drivers will begin arriving in South Korea on Wednesday.

Also, as part of festivities for the Korean Grand Prix, a supercar parade and an interactive motor sports event will be held.

Organizers are making thorough preparations for the race, which is expected to be a huge tourist draw.
