The Samsung Lions defeated the Doosan Bears 6-5 on Wednesday evening, securing a spot in the Korea Baseball Organization’s series championship for the first time in four years.

Samsung disposed of the Bears in the eleventh inning of 5-5 game on a two-out, bases-loaded, infield hit by the Lions’ Park Seok-min in the fifth and final game of the best-of-five series.

The Lions clawed back from an early 5-0 deficit with a two-run home run and a two-run single in the fourth, followed by a run-scoring double in the sixth.

Samsung’s Park Han-yi was named series MVP.

The Lions will face the SK Wyverns in the best-of-seven Korean Series that opens at the Wyvern’s home park in Incheon on Friday.
