Olympic figure skating gold medalist Kim Yu-na has begun training in Los Angeles after parting ways with former coach Brian Orser.

Kim told reporters Wednesday that she has not yet decided on a new coach or where she plans to do the majority of her training, only that, for the time being, she feels she will be able to train comfortably in L.A.

Kim is set to take part in an ice show in L.A. early next month and is expected to start preparing soon for the World Figure Skating Championships that open in March.

Nothing has been confirmed in regards to why Kim and Orser decided to part ways, although in a recent interview with the Toronto Star, Orser said Kim’s side severed the relationship because they felt that he and his team “had not given much attention to Yu-na.”
