Seoul to Host World Military Basketball Championship

The World Military Basketball Championship will be held at a gymnasium in Seoul from September ninth to the 17th.
Hosted by the Ministry of Defense, the international competition will see 13 nations --- including South Korea, the U.S., China, Syria and last year’s champion Greece --- vie for roundball superiority.
This year’s tournament is the 50th to be held since 1950 and will mark the inaugural participation of women’s teams.
The ministry says South Korea’s hosting of the event will help it in its bid to host the 2015 CISM Military World Games.
