Park Wins 400m Freestyle at Pan Pacific Championships

South Korean star swimmer Park Tae-hwan has won gold in the men's 400-meter freestyle at the 2010 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Irvine, California.

Park, while picking up his second consecutive gold in the event at the championships, finished with his best time in the 400-meter since he competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Park clocked in at 3:44:73, two seconds ahead of second-place finisher Ryan Cochrane of Canada, on Saturday morning, Korean time.

Park also won a silver medal in the 200-meter freestyle at the championships earlier in the week.

The win brightens Park’s prospects of winning at the Asian Games in Guangzhou in November.
