S.Korean Swimmer Wins Silver at Pan Pacific Event

South Korean star swimmer Park Tae-hwan has won a silver medal in the men's 200-meter freestyle race at the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Irvine, California.

Park clocked in at 1:46:27, finishing behind Ryan Lochte (1:45:30) of the United States. It was the second consecutive time Park has won the silver in the event at the championships.

Park’s time was 1.42 seconds behind his personal best that he recorded at the Beijing Olympics two years ago.

In the 15-hundred meter finals that followed, however, Park only managed to finish in eighth place.

The 20-year-old is gunning for multiple gold medals at the upcoming Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, in November.
