More Tests Slated to Find Cause of Failed Launch

Korea and Russian space officials have agreed to conduct additional tests to find out why the launch of the Korean rocket Naro failed in June.

Both sides agreed to this in their third joint investigative meeting on the failed launch. The third launch of the Naro is expected next year.

The Science and Technology Ministry in Seoul and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute say the meeting was held in Daejeon last week from Sunday to Thursday.

The two sides discussed each side's hypothesis on what caused the failure.

They agreed that more tests and analyses are necessary and will be conducted in the other party's presence.
