Pitcher Park Looking for New Team After Demotion

Relief pitcher Park Chan-ho is looking for a new team after being demoted to the minors by the New York Yankees Saturday.

Park says he hopes to latch on with another team. The Yankees designated Park for assignment after trading for veteran pitcher Kerry Wood from the Cleveland Indians.

Park will become a free agent in ten days.

He had a 2-1 record with a 5.60 ERA in 29 games this season.

The 37-year-old Korean pitcher had a one-year deal worth 1.2 million U.S. dollars with New York.

In 452 career games in Major League Baseball, he has a record of 122-96 with an ERA of 4.37 and needs just two more wins to becoming the winningest Asian-born pitcher in the majors.
