Shin Ji-yai Wins Evian Masters

Shin Ji-yai won her first LPGA title of the 2010 season at the Evian Masters on Sunday, shooting a final round 5-under 67.

Shin’s fifth and final birdie of the day on the 18th gave her the one-stroke victory over Morgan Pressel, Alexis Thompson and compatriot Choi Na-yeon at the tournament in Evian-les-Bains, France.

The 22-year-old Shin, who finished with a four-round 14-under 274, is the first South Korean to win the Evian Masters.

She adds the prize money of 487-thousand-500 dollars to boost her money list-leading total to over one-point-one million dollars.

Shin's victory was her seventh LPGA Tour win in two years and is the fifth title won by a South Korean female golfer this year.

Kim Song-hee finished sixth and Jang Jeong eighth at the tournament.
