Korean researchers have developed an organic memory device that can be easily bent and folded.

The Education, Science and Technology Ministry says a team led by Kookmin University professor Lee Jang-sik has developed the flexible memory device using a thin plastic board.

Lee says the breakthrough will help the development of flexible cell phones and electronic books over the next decade.

The study is published in the online edition of the journal Nano Letters.
