Curry Ingredient Found to Slow Aging Process

A new study suggests that turmeric, an ingredient of curry, has anti-aging properties.

The team at a local university said turmeric reduces the appearance of genes that accelerate aging. The average lifespan of fruit flies that were fed turmeric by the team as part of a study was longer than the lifespan of the control group by one-fifth.

The team added that the fruit flies that were fed turmeric also demonstrated resistance to stress.

The results were published in the online issue of “Rejuvenation Research,” an international journal on the biology of aging.
