S.Korea's IT Ranks 1st in Nat'l Competitiveness

South Korea was found to have ranked first in a report assessing the national competitiveness of 25 countries in the field of information technology (IT).

The Korea Communications Commission said Tuesday that South Korea came in first in three out of eight categories in the assessment report issued by the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. The three categories were: the government’s application of IT, the diffusion of wireless internet and IT infrastructure stability.

Japan ranked second on the report followed by Denmark, Sweden and the United States.

Meanwhile, South Korea ranked second in terms of diffusion of mobile services and advancement in IT infrastructure.
