The Ministry of Knowledge Economy has selected the fields that will be included in the first phase of the “World Best Software” project.

The ministry said Thursday that it has begun a project to develop the world’s best software by 2012 in the fields of aeronautics, mobile telecommunications, automobiles, security, medicine and transportation.

The ministry has organized a separate evaluation committee comprised of experts in industry, academia and research.

The list of developers in the respective fields will be finalized in the second half of August.
