Pyeongchang's bidding committee for the 2018 Winter Olympics has held a ceremony emphasizing Pyeonchang’s determination to become the host of the 2018 event.

The ceremony was held at a hotel in Seoul on Tuesday, just one year before the International Olympic Committee selects the host city.

Some 250 guests attended Tuesday’s ceremony, including Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yu In-chon and Korean Olympic Committee President Park Yong-sung.

At the ceremony, the bidding committee unveiled its “New Horizons” slogan for its bid.
