Biotech Team Breeds Fluorescent Fish

A domestic research team has successfully bred fluorescent fish using genetic engineering.

Pukyong National University in Busan says its research team in marine biomaterials and aquaculture has used genetics to develop the first fluorescent fish by combining the DNA of sea minnow and coral.

The team says that since the color of the fish changes depending on the state of the water, they could be used to monitor underwater environments.
