Nat’l Soccer Team Returns Home

The national soccer team has returned home from South Africa.

Upon their arrival, the Taegeuk Warriors thanked the South Korean people for their support and pledged to work harder to develop Korean soccer.

Lee Chung-yong, who scored two goals for the Korean team during the World Cup, said in an interview that enthusiastic support and cheering from the public was a great help and that he will perform better in the future.

Coach Huh Jung-moo said that participation in the 2010 FIFA World Cup has helped the nation identify problem areas in Korean soccer that need to be rectified.

In this year’s World Cup, Team Korea advanced to the round of 16 for the first time on foreign soil.
