Fans Cheer for Soccer Team All Night

Some two million people took to the streets to cheer for South Korea's national soccer team on Thursday evening, when the team played Argentina during its second Group B match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The upbeat music and enthusiastic roars turned into sighs as South Korea lost, 4-1, but soon the cheering resumed and continued late into the night.

The cheering fans were not limited to the streets. Koreans shouted their support in beer halls and cafes, at train and subway station waiting rooms and inside train cars, as well.

In the early hours of Friday morning, fans finally scattered and attention shifted to Team Korea's Wednesday match against Nigeria, which will help determine if South Korea secures a berth to the second round. Although the fans were disappointed with Thursday's loss, they felt that the Taegeuk Warriors had done their best.
