Members of the Naro space rocket management committee met Friday to discuss future plans following the failed launch of the nation's space rocket.

Immediately following the failed launch on Thursday, the government held a meeting of South Korean and Russian experts for one hour and decided that a dozen Russian scientists will stay in Korea for the time being.

During the Thursday meeting, South Korean scientists said that the Naro is presumed to have exploded, citing video and flight data, while Russian experts said they will secure and analyze flight data from the rocket's first stage.

Under a contract concerning the rocket launch, the two sides will form a joint probe team in the near future to identify the exact cause of the failure, and to discuss if a third launch will be attempted.
