Final Checkup on Naro Rocket Set for Thursday

A comprehensive checkup will be conducted on the nation’s space rocket Naro-1, which will be sent into orbit on June ninth.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said that a government-led checkup will be carried out on the Naro rocket Thursday at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province.

The examination will look into all preparatory measures ahead of the rocket’s launch.

The rocket will be moved to the launch pad two days before the launch, following final approval from South Korean and Russian experts on June sixth.

As the nation’s first space rocket, the Naro will carry a scientific satellite into space next week.
