Pro Baseball Sets Attendance Mark

The nation’s pro baseball league has so far this year drawn an accumulated 100 million spectators for the first time in its 29-year history.

A middle school student became the 100-millionth spectator when he attended Munhak Stadium in Incheon for an SK Wyverns game. It was the first time he had ever visited a ballpark in his life.

The student has been given free tickets for life and has been invited to the Guangzhou Asian Games.

Also for the first time, a record four out of ten Korean pro ballparks were filled to capacity on both Saturday and Sunday.

Pro baseball games have, in recent years, grown exponentially more popular among families.
