Video Images of Failed Naro Mission Released

The Education, Science and Technology Ministry has for the first time made public video images of the failed flight of the nation’s first space rocket August 25th last year.

The images were taken by two cameras installed in the upper part of the rocket.
They show the moment of the first-stage booster being separated from the rocket in space and a fairing remaining attached to the rocket.

The ministry also showed video images of the construction of Naro Space Center and the transportation and assembly of the Naro rocket, which is scheduled for launch June 9th weather permitting.

The upper part of the rocket was connected to the first stage May 19th. A comprehensive check-up will be conducted on the rocket one week before the scheduled launch.

The launch of the Naro in August last year failed to put a satellite into orbit due to technical glitches and the improper separation of a fairing.
