Ministry officials said Tuesday the Ministry of Justice have made necessary revisions in its regulations which enable the government to confer an honorary citizenship upon national football coach Guus Hiddink. Officials said president Kim Dae-jung was briefed about the ministry's plan in a cabinet meeting held earlier in thin the day. The government will award the honor a few days after the Sunday closing of the World Cup finals. The honorary citizenship is likely to be purely titular in the sense that it does not create any legal rights or duties in itself. The ministry plans to provide other follow-up measures so as to grant Hiddink certain privileges normally reserved for Korean nationals, including easier entry and exit.
