Upper Part, 1st Stage of Naro Connected

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology announced Wednesday that the upper part of the Naro-1 rocket has been attached to the first stage.

According to the ministry, the assembly was completed Wednesday after the upper part of the rocket, which was made with Korean technology, was delivered three days ago. The ministry said that all electrical and mechanical systems have been connected.

The ministry now plans to conduct various tests and final inspections, including an assessment of the launch pad and the rocket’s first stage by the end of this month.

The Naro is scheduled for launch on June ninth.

In August last year, South Korea failed in its first attempt to put a satellite into orbit aboard the Naro due to technical glitches.
