Soccer Team Beats Ecuador, 2-0

The national soccer team beat Ecuador in its final exhibition home game before the World Cup, 2-0, at Seoul World Cup Stadium Sunday.

Lee Seung-yeoul scored the first goal in the 72nd minute and Lee Chung-yong added a second in the 84th minute.

Korea missed on a number of chances in the first half, but kept up the pressure in the second half to win. After the game, a ceremony was held to formally launch Korea's World Cup campaign.

Korea will play a friendly game against Japan May 24 in Saitama, then travel to Austria for training camp. In Austria, the team will play exhibition games against Belarus May 30 and Spain June 3.
