A flight simulation and satellite tracking exercise for the

Naro-1 rocket was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Naro Space

Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province.

The simulation was conducted via a light plane on which a

booster was mounted. The booster’s diagnostics were tracked

by the space center and communications links were tested.

Other tests included establishing a connection with the

booster control system, verifying compatibility with ground

facilities and preparations to track the booster.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) plans to

conduct testing on the launch pad and comprehensive

monitoring on controlling the launch.

In August last year, South Korea failed in its first attempt

to put a satellite into orbit aboard the Naro due to

technical glitches.

The second launch is scheduled June ninth.
