The Korea Food and Drug Administration says it has discovered ten new intestinal bacteria in Koreans.

The administration examined 44 microorganisms found in the intestines of Koreans and discovered ten new types.

Anywhere between 500 and one-thousand microbes live in a person's intestines to help with digestion and metabolism.

The bacterial composition differs by race, region and environment.

The KFDA says that if the bacterial distribution of individual Koreans can be mapped out in the future using DNA chip technology, this can enable person-specific medical treatment.
