President Lee Myung-bak met with scientists and engineers on Wednesday to mark the 43rd Science Day.

Lee invited awardees and prominent figures in science disciplines to a meeting at the presidential office, where he credited those scientists and engineers who have made significant contributions to Korea’s rapid economic growth and recovery from the economic crisis.

In particular, he asked the science and engineering sectors to do more to foster science talents and further improve research and development capabilities.
