Hoops League Expels Testy US Player

An American player has been expelled from the Korean Basketball League after receiving his third fine of the season.

The league said Friday that Ivan Johnson of the Jeonju KCC Egis was expelled for swearing and giving the middle finger at a referee after his team lost the championship series to the Ulsan Mobis Phoebis.

The hot-tempered center was also fined five million won and is the fifth foreign player to be expelled from the league.
