Gov’t Checks Preparations for Naro-One Launch

The government conducted Friday its first comprehensive check of preparations for the nation’s second attempt to send a scientific satellite into orbit.

The satellite was moved to the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province, on April eighth.

Led by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the checkup covered all the preparations for the launch, including the ongoing assembly of both the satellite and the Naro rocket as well as the state of the launch pad.

The satellite and the upper part of the rocket are currently being assembled at the Naro Space Center.

The ministry will conduct two or three more comprehensive checkups to ensure the successful launch of the satellite.

The launch date will be announced next week.
