Seo Hee-kyung Wins LPGA Kia Classic

South Korea's Seo Hee-kyung picked up her first LPGA title at the LPGA Kia Classic in Carlsbad, California, on Sunday.

Seo won the event after finishing with a 12-under 276, defeating compatriot Park In-bee.

With the win, Seo, an eleven-time winner on the Korean LPGA tour, became the 19th golfer to win a title as a non-LPGA member.

She also became the first golfer to win a tournament on a sponsor’s exemption since Hong Jin-joo in October 2006.

Meanwhile, Koreans Lee Ji-young and Shin Ji-yai tied for third along with Taiwan’s Candie Kung.

Michelle Wie ranked sixth at four-under and Kim Song-hee tenth at three-under.
